The Suns have struggled this year defensively as a team. They’re giving up 115 PPG, which ranks 20th in the league. Which makes Phoenix’s rotations all the more confusing and frustrating.
Where is Ryan Dunn?
The rookie at times looked like one of the best defenders on the team. And yet, he has seemingly fallen out of the rotation. He played just 7 minutes in the Suns loss on Sunday to the lowly Raptors. Prior to that, he didn’t log a minute in the previous two games and hasn’t played over 20 minutes in a game since January 22nd. This season he’s putting up solid numbers, 6.5 PPG, 3.3 REB on 44.2 FG%. Those number were so good, they helped send him to this years Rising Star Game.
Phoenix’s first year head coach Mike Budenholzer has made a series of interesting rotation changes this year. In January he shocked the league when it was announced that he was benching Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic. It didn’t take very long before he decided to shake things up again by benching starting point guard Tyus Jones. Clearly Coach Bud isn’t afraid to shake things up. So why not play a guy that has shown so much upside and seemingly at least helps solve one of the teams biggest problems?
So I ask you again; where is Ryan Dunn?
