A recent survey has ranked the 25 most supported football clubs worldwide, revealing surprising results and sparking debate among fans. Conducted by Censuswide in 2024, the study gathered insights from over 8,000 fans across diverse countries, including the UK, USA, Brazil, Nigeria, Japan, Italy, Turkey, and South Korea. The findings placed Real Madrid at the top, with Barcelona following closely behind. These two Spanish giants together secured more than 26% of global support.
In the Premier League, Manchester United ranked third, with 9.79% of the vote, ahead of Chelsea (6.74%) and Arsenal (5.94%). The rankings, however, raised eyebrows, especially with Liverpool (5.06%) being placed below both Tottenham Hotspur (5.82%) and Manchester City (5.26%), prompting some to question the legitimacy of the survey, given the small sample size. Despite their recent successes, Manchester City‘s higher position caught many by surprise, with some fans voicing disbelief online.
Other clubs in the top 25 include Bayern Munich (4.12%), Paris Saint-Germain (2.08%), and AC Milan (2.04%). Notable names like Juventus, Boca Juniors, and Atletico Madrid also made the list. The results highlight the global spread and popularity of various clubs, though the survey’s validity remains a topic of heated discussion
