If the Tennessee Titans are indeed focused on drafting Miami’s Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s time to start thinking about wide receivers.
The best way to help Ward succeed would be to add dynamic pass catchers around hi Wem.
There’s an idea out there that would be a huge acquisition for Tennessee while greatly altering the Pittsburgh Steelers’ roster.
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox proposed this trade idea: The Titans send a fourth-rounder and a fifth-rounder to Pittsburgh for WR George Pickens.
Pickens has been an increasingly popular name in trade rumors after the Steelers traded for DK Metcalf and gave him a $150 million contract.
“After making a significant investment in the two-time Pro Bowler, the Steelers are unlikely to give Pickens a massive pay raise once his contract expires next offseason,” Knox writes. “Remember, head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters the 24-year-old ‘must grow up’ during the previous season.”
It’s the kind of move a forward-thinking team makes, cashing in an asset before he loses all his value.
With a couple of mid-round picks, the Steelers could continue to build up their depth to try and compete with whatever quarterback they add for 2025.
