Mike Tomlin’s biggest critics may want to look away — the head coach may not be on the hot seat like many believe.
According to well-respected Steelers insider Gerry Dulac, Tomlin’s job simply isn’t in jeopardy, despite fan backlash over a plethora of mediocre ‘never had a losing season’ finishes.

During Wednesday’s Steelers chat on Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Dulac was asked if Tomlin’s seat was “warm” — and this was his response:
“It depends who you ask. People around here believe he is not only on a warm seat, but a very hot seat, and that is just not the case. And I don’t think Tomlin and Art Rooney have talked about the insanity of it all. The fans do that.”
Rooney shows a clear preference for Tomlin’s above-.500 record over playoff success — and it doesn’t look like that will change any time soon.
