The New York Giants have a brand new quarterback room filled with diverse personalities, but the group is making a strong impression quickly.
With Russell Wilson coming in as the expected starter under center, the Giants also signed Jameis Winston to a two-year deal to be the backup to the 10-time Pro Bowler. Meanwhile, New York used the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft to select Jaxson Dart out of Ole Miss.
Both Wilson and Winston have been praised for their leadership ever since they arrived in East Rutherford this offseason, and safety Jevon Holland, a fellow newcomer, sang the duo’s praises as the offseason workouts get underway.
Specifically, Holland believes their presence is a positive development for Dart as he acclimates to life in the NFL.
“It’s like it almost looks like it’s second nature for those two, and I’m super excited for Jaxson because he has two extremely good vets and two individuals that speak life into everybody around them,” Holland said during an appearance on Sirius XM. “You have to raise the youth, and I know those two individuals are going to raise Jaxson into a great quarterback.”
Dart was already known as a prospect who brought strong leadership traits into the building, and he’ll get to learn even more about life in the NFL from two players with 23 years of combined experience in the league.
Not only should their presence be a positive for the mentality of the quarterback room, but Wilson and Winston bring the type of experience that can help the entire locker room. It may not immediately translate to wins and losses, but both players have vast experience with success and failure in the NFL.
The Giants clearly are hoping to build a new culture in the locker room and even though it’s still the spring, it seems the new additions to the quarterback room have been embraced positively.
