The Los Angeles Rams will release wide receiver Cooper Kupp on Wednesday afternoon before the league year begins. So, that gives the New England Patriots another target that they could get this offseason.

And according to the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, Kupp is “curious about the prospect of playing in New England and has shared that curiosity with some close to him.”
“Kupp has personal and professional connections to Patriots, starting with ex-college teammate and fellow wideout Kendrick Bourne, who has repeatedly advocated for Kupp to come to New England on social media. The two remain friendly, sources say,” Callahan wrote.
The Patriots have been targeting free agents who have ties to the new coaching staff, and Kupp would be no different. He spent time with Thomas Brown, who is New England’s passing game coordinator and tight ends coach, from 2020-2022 in Los Angeles.
Kupp has spent his entire career with the Rams, having played in 104 games and recorded 634 receptions for 7,776 yards and 57 touchdowns across eight season. Specifically last season, he had 67 receptions for 710 yards and six touchdowns across 12 games.
Plus, he’s also a Super Bowl MVP, having earned that honor in 2022 when the Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals.
This move should be a no brainer for the Patriots. So, let’s see if they can get a deal done.
