The 2025 NFL Draft is officially one week away. Which means we will soon know who the newest Indianapolis Colts players will be.
Star Colts running back Jonathan Taylor will be the first to welcome one of their draft picks to the team after the NFL’s most recent announcement.
Jonathan Taylor set to announce the Colts’ second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft
The NFL announced a list of current and former players who will announce selections in the 2025 NFL Draft. This year, the Colts only have one player who has been given this honor, and that is Jonathan Taylor. Taylor is set to announce the Colts’ second-round selection, currently slated for pick 45.
I’m sure it’s not random that Taylor was assigned to announce the team’s second-round selection. Taylor was drafted in the second round at pick 41 in the 2020 NFL Draft. Another element of this that I’m sure will be special for Taylor is that he is returning to the state he called home during his college years in Wisconsin. During his three-year career with the Wisconsin Badgers, he rushed for 6,174 yards and 50 touchdowns, and led the Big 10 in rushing all three years.
Last year, the Colts had another current player announce a draft selection, with LB Zaire Franklin being given the honor. He also announced the team’s second-round selection, which ended up being WR Adonai Mitchell.
